- My official rant -
Breathing in... breathing out...
What the hell?! This series totally ruined Jimmy! He was double-casted,
playing two brothers. One was a fiance of Fei Suet (Emily
Kwan) named Fung Tin Nam, who was mysteriously killed by
her (I hated her for that).
Fung Fei Suet is an offspring between the two people who were
killed by their enemies because they were from the evil Sun Moon
Sect. Fei Suet actually had a younger sister named Fei Tip
(Elaine Ho). Their grandparents took one of each- the Grandfather
took Fei Suet and the Grandmother took Fei Tip and raised them
separately.
Fei Suet, on the outside, is a weakling and flowery girl who
likes rabbits. Tin Nam likes her for this and cares for her because
they are engaged. But Fei Suet has actually mastered the skills
of disguising, so she can disguise into any person to achieve
her evil deeds. For some unknown reasons (this is the major flaw
of this series; things aren't explained correctly when they need
to be), Fei Suet wants to kill everyone off that had to do with
her parents murder. That is understandable, but why did she kill
her fiancé, Tin Nam? On top of that, she also killed her Grandfather
who raised her.
Tin Nam died when he was receiving a note that was supposedly
from Dai Yu (Chin Siu Ho : it was actually Fei Suet in
disguise). The note was poisoned so Tin Nam died. Some time after
this, his twin brother Fung Sam appears, wanting to avenge for
his brother's death. So he goes after Dai Yu persistently, even
though Dai Yu tries to explain to Fung Sam that he did not kill
Tin Nam. (Tin Nam & Dai Yu were good friends).
Mo Yung Yung (Carol Yeung Ling) is Dai Yu's neighborhood
enemy. She keeps on picking on Dai Yu, but she later falls in
love with him. But Dai Yu actually likes Fei Suet, not knowing
that she is evil as hell.
Some time after this, I guess Dai Yu finds out that Fei Suet
is evil. He wanders around and coincidentally meets Fei Tip, the
one he discovered to be Fei Suet's sister. He also meets Fei Tip's
grandmother. Fei Tip and Dai Yu eventually get married and settle
down, living happily....
BUT! Fei Suet rears her ugly head into the scene and kills everyone
off here- Fei Tip, her own freakin' sister, and the grandmother.
Dai Yu escapes and.... he meets Fung Sam again, but someone tells
him to watch out for Fung Sam because he isn't Fung Sam. Hmm.
So Dai Yu finds out that Fung Sam was long gone, and it was actually
Fei Suet in her disguise. Some time after this, he engages himself
in a final battle with Fei Suet. He wins of course because he
is the main character and is the strongest, but he realizes that
he still only loves Fei Suet... so they fall off the cliff together,
leaving Mo Yung Yung grieving.
If you can count how many times I said "..some time after this..,"
good for you! =D
Time to officially rant. At what point did Fung Sam die? And
why was Fei Suet so psychotic, as to kill every person that loved
her off? She was a sadist, I tell ya! Blood-crazed freak. Gosh.
I am not very fond of Emily Kwan. All of her series I saw basically
sucked (Mystery of the Condor Heroes, The Romantic Swordsman),
with an exception of the New Legend of the Condor Heroes '94.
Her characters are usually annoying and I guess she is more suited
for playing a villain, but still, she is annoying.
And the point of Jimmy dying in this series TWICE was...? I don't
get it.
I felt sorry for Carol Yeung because she loved Chin Siu Ho dearly
even though she bullied him at first. Chin Siu Ho was just stupid.
It took me a long time to like him after I saw this series because
his role just sucked here. Anyhow, this series was such a pity
on Carol.
Overall, I hated this series, it was a complete waste of my money
and I couldn't believe it had two of my favorite actors/actresses,
Jimmy & Carol.. Jimmy's usual charm of making the main casts shine
didn't even work because the main cast was terrible! Well,
as for Chin Siu Ho, I forgive him but Emily Kwan's role was just
impossible to comprehend. If I'm not making a page on Jimmy, I
wouldn't even bother talking about this series right now.
Oh oh! One thing positive about this series- I liked the theme
song somewhat.
Whew, I feel better. Thanks for reading. :)
