I got acquainted with ATE (At the Threshold of an Era) when I
first started browsing the net for HK series info. There was a
lot of hype about this "millenium" series at the time,
especially with the star casting it employed. I don't know about
the ratings, but the script proved to be a flop for many people.
At the ridiculous length of 105 episodes altogether, TVB still
could not pull "it" off.
The reason I chose to do a gallery on this series is simple -
Roger Kwok. He is still going strong, playing main characters
to supporting roles. I admire his consistency and boyish looks,
although he can be nasty if he chooses to be (e.g. The Dragon
Gate Inn). No matter what, he will always be the playful Ah
Yat that I first fell in love with.
