The Emperor of Sui (Po Fung)

His surname is Yeung (obviously). He is the first emperor of the Sui Dynasty. He had a relationship with Madam Suen Wah, much to his wife's discontent. He was murdered by his own son, Yeung Gwong.

The Empress of Sui (Lee Heung Kam)

Her surname is Duk Goo. She is strong, fierce, and has bad temper. She loves Yeung Gwong and Lan Ling, but despises her first-born, Yeung Yung. She doesn't think he is good enough be the crown prince. Only shortly before her death does she realize that she has made a grave mistake in putting so much trust in Gwong.

Yeung Yung's Wife

She is unhappy most of the time, as her husband doesn't seem to take things seriously. She is later killed by Gwong and it is made to look like a suicide to blame it on Yung for causing her to kill herself.
